Product User Experience Designer

Brief Description of Services: The User Experience Designer will work be involved in all phases of the design life cycle: development and refinement of personas and scenarios, architectures, flows, wireframes, and designs; production of design deliverables; verification and testing of design implementations; and synthesis of results from user testing and analytics to refine existing work and develop new ideas.



The user experience designer will be expected to:


• Work with product managers and other business stakeholders to gather, prioritize, and synthesize requirements

• Analyze and synthesize research results and analytics information

• Work fluidly with input from teams to design architectures, flows, and interfaces, producing diagrams, wireframes, designs, or other documents as required by team and project needs, and testing with users along the way

• Present and sell designs to teams and stakeholders

• Work to achieve consensus within teams that include product managers, quality assurance engineers, engineers, and others, and also work to get broader stakeholder buy-in quickly and diplomatically

• Help maintain styles and patterns used across all products

• Participate in user testing and research activities


The user experience designer should have:

• Understanding of how users engage with products, as well as of design principles related to product architectures, flows, interactions, and interfaces

• Ability to work from business requirements to produce simple, elegant design solutions within business, technical, and other constraints

• Experience designing for mobile devices

• Knowledge of UX trends and styles

• Excellent oral, written, and visual communication skills

• Expert user of standard design tools

• Flexibility to adapt to the needs of different teams, projects, and contexts

• Meticulous attention to detail and ability to maintain nuanced understanding of complex systems

• Work well in a collaborative environment

• 1-3 years experience working on products

• Degree in relevant field like HCI or User Experience

• Familiarity with agile processes
