Product Project Manager

Our client, a financial firm based in Canary Wharf, is looking for a Project Manager on a contact basis. In essence they need a Project Manager with strong experience in Product Management, Product Development, Sales/Account Management and/or Vendor Management.

Purpose and Responsibilities

Responsible for supporting the development and management of core, optional and fee based Insurance products for Europe.

Supports products, sales, marketing operations and delivery strategy for the region.

Supports the successful sales, implementation and on-going delivery of Insurance programs for Cardholder Solutions on a local basis with global and regional vendors.

Ensures the swift resolution of all issues related to the delivery of Insurance services.

Supports key initiatives in line with 2012 objectives, leading specific projects through to completion.
Researches and recommends ideas for enhancing and expanding existing product capabilities to meet existing demand, and further differentiate product lines to create opportunities in the market place.
Supports process reviews and re-design across the product line and manages the communication and distribution across all stakeholders.

Supports the integration and implementation of product and service enhancements in the region, effectively aligning capabilities to ensure smooth execution.

Sales/Marketing

Builds technical and market expertise to ensure existing products new capabilities effectively address customer needs.
Supports the monitoring and benchmarking competitor programmes and distribution models, both issuers and networks.
Support the development of and external material for promotion of products to drive incremental sales in the Insurance product line.

Operational

Ensures the effective development and execution of project plans that are created in collaboration with internal personnel, regional stakeholders, vendors and the issuers.

Drives process to ensure the appropriate review and sign-off of all project deliverables by internal and external stakeholders.

Accountable for ensuring that all projects are implemented in accordance with implementation standards.

Support Account Management/Sales as well as Regional Management requests to review customisation of existing Products to support a specific request.

Reviews vendors’ performance and ensures quality delivery of products or services. Monitors expenses against budget; assists with development of P&L for services provided by service providers.

Ensures effective collaboration with all internal and external stakeholders to quickly manage the resolution of implementation risks and issues and appropriately escalates as needed.

Monitor measure and report on the performance of the product line in terms of quality and profitability. This includes product SLA definitions.

Complies with all regulatory procedures, information security requirements and contract policies, within region.

Financial

Drive profitable growth of Insurance products through revenue expansion and cost control.

Responsible for monitoring local vendor expenses to ensure alignment with regional budgets.

Works with local service providers to identify ways to increase efficiencies and reduce expenses of local services provided.

Experience/Knowledge

• Strong experience in Product Management, Product Development, Sales/Account Management and/or Vendor Management
• Credit Card, Financial Services or Insurance industry experience preferred
• Experience in design of customer service programs across multiple channels highly preferred
• Experience with MS Project, Excel and PowerPoint

Functional Skills Required

• Strong relationship and communication skills are necessary to collaborate with regional and vendor partner relationships, and internal product owners
• Demonstrated experience including vendor management, project management, and customer service management
• Ability to work on projects and recommendations that are global in scale, while supporting local needs
• Analyses problems & develops recommended solutions
• Excellent and methodical analytical skills are essential to analyse research data to formulate improvement recommendations
• Effective collaboration and cross functional partnering
• Proven Project Management experience
