Product Marketing and Social Community Manager

Our client, a Fortune 500 creative design software client, is looking for a Product Marketing and Social Community manager to join their Consumer Digital Media group for a 6 month contract assignment.

In this position, you will manage day-to-day marketing activities for new products targeted to specific mass consumer markets. Responsibilities include developing and executing the go-to-market strategy and marketing plans; defining, delivering and maintaining product messaging; and managing outbound marketing activities to drive awareness, acquisition and active usage of the products on a worldwide basis. This role will also be responsible for managing the social community including the planning, execution and monitoring of daily activities.

Product Marketing Responsibilities
• Develop and execute new products go-to-market strategy worldwide. Develop product messaging in partnership with product managers to successfully communicate value proposition.
• Work with product management to influence the product roadmap based on changing market dynamics and new business opportunities.
• Determine the optimal marketing mix for the business and oversee development and maintenance of marketing touch points (web pages, press releases, packaging, support pages, email, etc.).
• Develop Consumer “tone of voice” and personality.
• Present and demonstrate products to internal and external audiences, including press events, conferences, and customers.
• Ensure coordination among marketing, product management, evangelism, corporate teams and sales in order to successfully execute against key marketing milestones in the product lifecycle.
• Execute against budget, including quarterly tracking and analysis.

Social Community Responsibilities
• Create and drive the social media strategy, coordinating with stakeholders across the company to ensure its effectiveness and ensure adoption of relevant social media practices
• Own the budget for the tools in use for the consumer segment and advise on social media tool integration.
• Recruit and oversee a Social Media Coordinator and/or agency, ensuring a superior quality of communication and project delivery is provided at all times. Work with coordinator to grow social communities, influence members and to stay on course with set KPIs.
• Lead the planning of social media campaigns, ensuring customer acquisition and support business goals (monetization, customer acquisition, extend events, amplify key messages) across the segment’s portfolio.
• Identify and engage key marketing partners to broaden effectiveness of social campaigns.
• Act as the advocate of social media integration within the segment, influencing overall site and business strategies
• Provide benchmarks and analyze data to inform decision-making and ensure campaign targets are met.
• Become a customer and community expert. Connect on a personal level and humanize the brand, actively make efforts to understand preferences and tastes.
• Monitor and comment on trends, acting as segment’s spokesperson within the company and possibly within the Social Media industry.
• Monitor the competition and be aware of market changes and developments

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years marketing experience (product or corporate marketing with a consumer company a plus).
• Experience developing marketing strategies and managing a business.
• Strong Social experience and proven track record around taking new products to market via Social.
• Strategic marketing skills - messaging, strategy development and execution, program/project management, market research.
• Familiarity with new routes to market as electronic distribution and app stores.
• Highly motivated, business focused, and flexible -demonstrating abilities to execute on comprehensive plans and show results.
• Experience in managing projects with cross-functional teams and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills; proven ability to collaborate with colleagues across different functions.
• A forward thinker who is open-minded with new ideas and approaches.
• Results-orientation and ability to develop metrics and analyze data.
• Must have an appreciation for creative people and creative tools and technologies.
• Ability to build and leverage a strong network of peers and partners.

ADDITIONAL INFO
• This is a 6 month, full-time, W-2 contract position working onsite at the clients office in San Jose, CA or San Francisco, CA.
