Product Marketing Manager

As Product Marketing Manager, Advertising Products, you will be responsible for bringing new advertising products to market and driving demand for new and existing products. The Product Marketing Manager will craft positioning and messaging that resonates with buyers and work with sales to deliver the message effectively. You will serve as the primary liaison to sales including assistance with sales proposals, responding to advertiser questions, leading post campaign analysis, reviewing product exception requests, and coordinating with internal teams such as product management, design, ad operations, research and analytics, editorial, and public relations. The Product Marketing Manager must be knowledgeable in digital display advertising, the automotive category, and the media planning and buying process.

Position responsibilities:
• Partner with product management to identify new opportunities and understand upcoming product improvements and changes for advertisers.
• Develop product positioning, value proposition and messaging that resonates with buyers for current and new advertising products.
• Plan the launch of new products and releases and manage the cross-functional implementation including product messaging, launch communications, web site content, sales tools and more.
• Lead development of sales tools to support the selling process, such as product demos, product catalogs, and proposals.
• Be the expert on our buyers, how they buy, their buying criteria, and connect with them via sales calls.
• Moderate overnight travel (up to 30%) by land and/or air.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Essential skills, knowledge and abilities:
• 5+ years combined advertising experience for a high volume consumer website or media agency.
• Strong understanding of digital media planning and buying process, as well as automotive category.
• Ability to identify advertiser needs and problems through direct interaction, and inform product positioning, value proposition, and messaging accordingly.
• Ability to translate technical capabilities into benefits.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present to both internal and external customer groups.
• Track record of success and career advancement with ability to thrive in a dynamic, competitive industry.
• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
