Product Manager/Product Development (18-24 month contract)

Excellent career opportunity for a Senior Product Marketing Manager with a minimum of 2-5 years medical device upstream marketing experience. This role will be a part of the Consumable Medical Devices global upstream marketing team. Experience working with a formalized product development process is required. Must also have been an integral participant on a core development team--ideally leading upstream marketing efforts.

This role supports the global growth of the consumable medical device business through the following key activities:

• Play lead Marketing role in critical on-market product improvement/remediation projects
• Play lead Marketing role on cross-functional product development teams
• Support global market assessments, licensing & acquisition opportunities, and development & execution of strategic marketing plans

• Research, translate, and incorporate the voice-of-customer throughout the Product Development process

• Quantify market opportunities for product improvements, product extensions, regional market expansion, and new products

• Participate in cross-functional development teams with R&D, Medical, Regulatory, Quality, Operations, etc.

• Develop business plans to support product lifecycle management decisions

• Understand, define, and communicate the value proposition of new product opportunities

• Support development of global marketing plans, brand positioning, and product promotion

• Support regional commercial teams with new product launch planning and other critical activities to achieve sales and marketing objectives

• Product development experience, including strong understanding of user needs development, medical device design controls, and experience with rigorous multi-phase /stage-gate product development processes.

• Experience conducting formal qualitative and quantitative market research strongly preferred.

• Experience in sales, training, contracting, and international markets is beneficial.

• Strong management and interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Must be proactive and results-oriented.

• Well-developed organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple projects

• Ability to drive change across the organization.

• Understanding of business/financial interrelationships between marketing strategies, pricing, volumes, cost structure and other financial data and the ability to make sound business decisions.

• High degree of self-direction with the ability to constantly seek innovative ways to perform tasks in an efficient and timely manner.
