Our client is a mobile payments service that enables consumers to conveniently make person-to-person international money transfers from the United States and Canada. We are looking for a relentlessly resourceful Product Manager — that’s right, relentlessly resourceful. What does that mean to us? It’s the kind of person who will skillfully and quickly deal with new situations and difficulties. We think that resourceful individuals are confident and gritty because they have experienced failure and setbacks, and found ways around or through them. Out of that resourcefulness we expect to see dynamic problem solving ability. So if you are the kind of person who gets excited about being thrown into something unfamiliar, complicated, with challenging product, technology and customer problems.

Our client is looking for an experienced Product Manager to guide the design, development, and support of features across our web, iOS, and Android apps. Our ideal candidate is passionate about modern and intuitive interfaces, friendly and effective messaging, and has a constant focus on metrics and outcomes. Success will require a thorough understanding of a constantly evolving and expanding set of backend processes and an ability to translate that understanding into simple, effective, and delightful features for our customers. A PM is a highly collaborative team player, but also a one-person wrecking crew, they get a lot done with few resources and lots of ambiguity.

Responsibilities

  • Define features, write specs and user stories, create wireframes, prototypes, test plans, release checklists, communicate functionality, and incorporate feedback — rinse and repeat.
  • Prioritize your and your team’s work, backlogs, and roadmaps.
  • Start from the customer and work backwards to create and maintain your roadmap and milestones. Work with designers and engineers to estimate, build, and measure while ensuring that you’re working on the highest priority things you can be.
  • Work closely with other key stakeholders including marketing, customer service, risk, compliance, legal, and finance.
  • Ensure we ship well-crafted customer-centric product at a timely pace.
  • Evaluate technical tradeoffs of the features in your roadmap, without costing input from developers. Partner with developers to make the right technical trade-offs while insisting on the highest standards.
  • Understand, articulate and pursue design directions with your design counterparts that will take the transaction experience from good to delightful!
  • Write effective copy while aligning with verbal brand guidelines; find the perfect words, not just words that will suffice for key copy (buttons, calls to action, labels, nav, etc.)


  • Minimum Qualifications
  • An entrepreneurial work style — self-starter and scrappy
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills
  • Passionate about quality assurance and shipping features without defects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lead and influence without direct management responsibility
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions
  • 2+ years of product management or engineering experience in a fast-paced technology company
  • Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other BE/BS degree required.


  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous consumer product startup experience is a plus
  • Fluency in a second language is a plus
  • MBA or other graduate degree is a plus
