Product Manager, Cart & Checkout

The Product Manager is responsible for driving the vision and strategy of his/her product line(s) and for the management of the product throughout its lifecycle. He/she effectively translates business strategies into product strategies, roadmaps and product specifications that deliver against both our core customer benefits and our company strategic and financial goals. The Product Manager acts as the product champion, and is able to evangelize the product vision effectively to senior stakeholders and is able to independently drive to agreement on product requirements and directions. As a member of the SamsClub.com product management team, he/she will work on initiatives that change or enhance our existing products as well as develop new products that transform the Walmart customer checkout experience on a global scale. He or she should be able to look at the as-is cart and checkout flows for Sam’s US.com and work with the business team and look at the competitive landscape to come up with recommendations on streamlining and enhancing the complete user experience and transactional behavior for members going through checkout. Some of the critical goals that this product manager would be evaluated against are reduced cart abandonment rate and increased conversion through the shopping process on the site for members.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, is analytical, detail and results oriented with excellent problem-solving skills and a strong work ethic. He/she is a highly motivated self-starter. This individual is an evangelist for his/her product and has a deep understanding of his/her customers’ needs, the product and the competitive landscape. He/she has the confidence and knowledge to successfully own the product. He/she is an excellent communicator and builds strong cross functional relationships, internally and externally. This individual will be skilled in working across departments to collaborate with Business Managers, User Experience, Application Architects, Engineering Delivery Teams, Project Managers, QA, and Operations teams. His/Her product management experience and understanding of the software development cycle is essential to the successful development of requirements and products.

Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field and 5 years experience in product management, business consulting, or related field.

Additional Preferred Qualifications Preferred Qualifications
• 2 years experience in internet product management.
• 1 year experience developing software with Agile methodology.
• 1 year experience shipping mobile applications on major smartphone platforms such as Android or iOS.
• 1 year experience in consumer software development using modern web technologies such as AJAX, Ruby on Rails, or related technologies.
• 1 year experience in an entrepreneurial start up environment.
• 1 year experience in user experience or interaction design.
• 1 year experience shipping consumer applications.
• 2 years experience in platform architecture or development of distributed platform environments.
• 1 year experience in managing platform products (for example, open source, cloud, and big data).
• 1 year experience in the development and management of a technical product roadmap.
• 1 year experience in Agile Development Methodologies
