Product Manager

Our client is hiring a Product Manager for 6 months to help facilitate the software development and internal rollout of a new digital content and authoring system. This role will be responsible for managing development and training schedules, writing user stories and defining and executing against the overall implementation strategy.  The ideal candidate will have a strong interest supporting global products and working with international teams. 

- Write and articulate use cases, user stories, feature specifications, and any additional documentation that defines the business needs for development 

- Proactively flag roadblocks, dependencies, and tradeoffs across all program teams and stakeholders, from software engineering to product management and editorial teams 

- Liaise directly with third-party engineering partners, in-house engineering teams, product managers, project managers, authors, and stakeholders to ensure that communication is timely and clearly understood 

- Create release notes, internal product announcements, and internal/external documentation 

- Ensure roadblocks and tradeoff decisions are diagnosed, framed and communicated correctly with persistence to resolve quickly and efficiently 

- Map and organize a high level training plan and schedule that includes: 
-        Creating and facilitating a training program, including “training the trainers,” and helpdesk support for approximately 100 authors and editors who will be begin using the system in Q1 of 2018 
-        Training documentation, support guides, and editorial reference sheets 
-        A list of operational tasks and dependencies to support the implementation strategy 

- Ability to manage multiple streams of work and integrations simultaneously 
- Navigates development roadblocks with flexibility/adaptability and seeks to resolve issues with urgency 
- Evaluates stakeholder needs and conducts meetings in a way that will achieve prioritization consensus between teams 
- Balances thinking and planning with action plans 
- Can influence cross-functional teams without formal authority 
- Takes initiative and leads change 

- Bachelor’s degree 

- Proficiency presenting to large groups of stakeholders and cross-functional teams

- Prior success coordinating/facilitating online training with SMEs 

- 5 years’ digital project experience, preferably in education technology 

- Previous Agile development experience as a Product Champion/BA 

- Excellent verbal/written communication skills
