Product Management Specialist

Responsible for product research and packaging research
Ideal candidate will have some experience working for a retail company in the product division


Primary Responsibilities:
Support Own Brand Product Manager and/or Director with the development and management of Own Brand products
• Collect and organize industry and market research on products, marketing techniques and analysis of assortments and then apply that to the growth and development of business strategies for Brand products within that category
• Assist in the creation of product briefs, giving definition and direction on a new project to the rest of the team
• Complete Packaging Request Forms and ensure packaging artwork accuracy through online proofing process
• Assist in the development of brand products. This includes ideation, definition and project management. It also includes working with the packaging and marketing teams as needed to bring the product to market
• Manage proofing process of catalog content to ensure that information presents Brand products with appropriate selling features of quality, value and innovation
With direction from the Product Manager and/or Director, work closely with merchants across multiple business units in North American to drive Own Brand product sales and overall brand presence.
• Preparation for meetings and significant follow-up needed to keep projects on track
• Retrieve ad hoc financial data and reports to provide compelling information that supports strategic selling plans
• Assist in planning for upcoming promotional seasons, maximizing the opportunity to drive brand products in promo locations throughout the year. This includes analysis of prior promotions, awareness of market trends and recommendations for promotional products. Work with team to preparepresentations and obtain product samples and displays
Communicate with other functional groups within Brands Group (Product Development, Marketing and Design) to keep projects moving and achieve mutual goals.
Maintain Product Lifecycle Management system (Enovia) and other Brands Group systems with all information and changes for new product development projects.

Qualifications
• Strong interpersonal skills, resourcefulness and a sense of urgency in accomplishing goals
• Good analytical skills – able to measure results and assess opportunities by asking the right questions, pulling data together and drawing conclusions
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. Curiosity about how things work
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment, including the ability to prioritize multiple high-importance tasks and stay organized
• Professional communication skills – written and verbal
• Good Excel & PowerPoint capabilities
• Bachelor Degree Required
• 0 to 2 years related work experience
