Product Information Analyst

Position Summary:

Enforce content standards and execute data/content quality and cleansing techniques. Ensure that best practices in data modeling and content development are being followed to support web indexing, browsing, search and retrieval. Audit millions of records within the data repository for compliance with brand guidelines and quality standards and maintain metrics to track the effectiveness and value of content/data policies and procedures. Must develop a strong knowledge of source and target systems in order to understand the impact of global content/data strategies. Liaise with functional and technical team members to address content/data governance gaps.

Specific responsibilities include:
– Maintain content data conventions and consistent data definitions
– Maintain library of documentation on how to perform various content processes and ensure it is available to users both locally and off-site
– Enforce adherence to approved policies and procedures, including corporate style and content/data standards
– Execute content/data auditing process to ensure compliance with standards; review reports run against data repository and coordinate any necessary clean up activities
– Deliver training on style and data structure to ensure best practices are followed
– Audit content created periodically to confirm compliance with standards and/or identify remediation opportunities
– Acquire a working knowledge of content output channels and how content supports them; these may include company Web sites, hosted eCommerce catalogs, print catalogs, direct mail publications, and other media
– Validate that product attributes are fully and consistently populated
– Working with intra-departmental teams on content quality initiatives
– Compile quality reports for management

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
– Bachelors degree in Information Management, a Scientific discipline or related field
– One to three years’ experience in a data governance or data quality role
– One to three years’ experience documenting processes, developing and training teams, and maintaining standards against a benchmark
– Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access
– Experience working with content management systems and/or Oracle Product Data Quality and DataLens technology a plus
– Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications as well as Web search techniques
– Working knowledge of scientific terms, abbreviations, and characters a plus

– Ability to understand business goals and data quality needs
– Practical understanding of how to interpret data against governance standards
– Ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects and tasks to meet designated deadlines
– Attentiveness to accuracy and detail
– Ability to communicate effectively and responsibly regarding project progress and deadlines
– Ability to work independently as well as effectively in a team environment
– Must demonstrate good decision-making skills, initiative, and motivation and have a strong customer service orientation
