Product Designer

Our team is charged with envisioning and illustrating the product roadmaps for a variety of important properties. To that end, we are assembling a team of top-tier talent drawn from the creative and design disciplines.

We are looking for individuals who can marshal their intuition, experience, and passion to articulate and socialize user experiences that enhance the ways our customers live, work, and play. Expect a fast-paced, fluid environment where collaboration, communication, and professionalism is key.

As a Design Researcher, you'll help shepherd our envisioning and storytelling efforts through the in-depth study of the subjects at hand. You'll systematically make yourself a domain expert regarding whatever customer pain points or tasks we're attempting to address.

Responsibilities
• Integration of emerging patterns and usage with associated product/service investments. Identifies user insights, unarticulated needs, and new product/service priorities or opportunities, relative to competitive patterns or trends, and suggests opportunities that span experiences, businesses, and technologies
• Develop formative, generative, naturalistic research. Creates consensus for needed human- and product-centered approaches for a research organization that define deliverables and success criteria for multiple research objectives.
• Innovates new research techniques, and creates multi-stage approaches that integrate the efforts of multiple teams
• Reduce and synthesize multiple sources of complex data to form aggregate insights, enables the synthesis of data across design, engineering, and business domains, and aligns complex data across disciplines to enable idea finding, problem definition, and opportunity finding for a product/service
• Create compelling communication that promotes an emotional connection to customers and conveys real customer stories that reveal customer insight to a product/service
• Create a holistic understanding of customer usage, reaction, feedback, or needs for related product areas, scenarios, and themes
• Predict the usage and customer reaction to a product/service (for example, delighters, problem definition, or scenario adoption), and aligns real customer stories, insights, and data across disciplines to contribute to go-to-market efforts for a product/service

Requirements
• A BA/BS or higher degree in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Communication Arts, or field related degree.
• 3+ years as a professional Design Research or equivalent experience
• Possess deep knowledge and application of user-centered philosophies and design best practices
• Passion for invention, human computer interaction, and seamless user experiences
• The ability to wear many hats and contribute across disciplines
• A history of creating new experiences build on new or emerging technology
• Experience working on a multi-disciplinary team
• Self-motivated and comfortable with the ambiguities inherent in incubation work
• Fearless in the face of new hardware, software, tools, and processes
• Knowledge of user-centered design approaches and interaction design best practices
• Strong brainstorming skills, from participation to leadership
• The ability to reduce complex concepts to understandable, actionable tasks
• A strong interest in design and technology and trends, with an eye toward the future

Bonus
• Coding and or markup language experience to help prototype and validate experiences
• Experience assisting in the production of functional prototypes, motion studies, and interface models
