Product Creation Operations Assistant

Our client, a Fortune 500 outdoor apparel and equipment company based in Portland, is looking for a Product Creation Operations Assistant to join their company on a temporary basis.

This position is business focused with regard to Product Creation Operations and is responsible for providing ongoing support of processes and operations while focusing on department reporting and auditing of Merchandising master data. In addition, this position is the lead operational point person for our Europe and Canada regions as well as Design Ops support. This position will require collaboration with key members of Merchandising, Design, Product Graphics, Product Engineering, Sourcing, Costing, Marketing Graphics, Quality, Legal, Master Data and support organizations. This position will maintain and help to define operational standards, support global processes and monitor and ensure deadlines and data integrity is met for the company.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

• Global Apparel auditing and reporting metrics for Merchandising and Design.
• Lead Europe and Canada operations point person for issue resolution, process and calendar communication and enforcement.
• Leads the seasonal catalog process for Design and Merchandising.
• Data cleansing and auditing projects.
• Point person for design operations.
• Leads the seasonal Promo/Seeding process for Merchandising, PR and Marketing.
• Training prep and rollout specific to reporting, auditing, catalog process, promo seeding process, calendar, etc.
• PDM data overrides and Super User for the Europe and Canada teams. Also provides override support to all other Merchandising teams as needed.
• Role requires a heightened level of systems testing.
• Work on special projects, assignments and tasks as assigned.


Works under some supervision. Work is generally reviewed for accuracy. Works on semi complex tasks within the job function where some evaluation and judgement is required.

Specific Job Skills:
• Foundational understanding of Product Creation processes related to Design, Merchandising and Product Development.
• Detailed knowledge PDM process steps related to line/style creation and maintainance
• Advanced knowledge and proficiency with Excel, Access, Illustrator, InDesign, SAP (or similar scale ERP), PDM ( or similar scale PLM), TM1, master data.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external customers
• Proven ability to prioritize with appropriate urgency
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• 2+ years professional experience and general proficiency with tools, systems, and procedures related to design and merchandising operations.
• Ability to support projects that support strategic and tactical goals
• Experience supporting system implementations
• Strong written and verbal communications skills required. Comfortable discussing projects and needs with business peers and team leaders.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in merchandising, design, business, marketing, sales or other relevant field.
