Product Communications Writer

As part of a small Investment Communications team at a F100 financial company, the Product Communications Writer will be responsible for supporting the content execution and project management for product updates and provide support for related service and operational content. Consults with members of Investment and Marketing Communications, Public Relations and various internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities include:
-Work directly with investment analysts, product managers, marketing, and legal and compliance partners to create, route for review and comment, and edit content for product updates
-Develop strong understanding of product offerings and changes to discern what’s appropriate to include in each piece of collateral
-Manage all life-cycle activities associated with writing and editing certain client facing communications, from defining scope and requirements, consolidating and incorporating multiple rounds of feedback, to obtaining final approvals
-Consult with SMEs (portfolio managers, product managers, and investment analysts) and business partners to clarify project scope, desired customer experience, and business outcome
-Effectively organize project files, including key meeting notes, project plans, and approvals for easy tracking to facilitate progress reports and support audit requirements
-Translate financial, legal or technical terminology that’s relevant for the audience
-Work closely with Compliance Team to vet and approve final versions
-Deliver consistent, accurate and high-quality content
-Wear various ‘marketing hats,’ when needed

Desired Skills and Experience:
-Strong expertise in mutual funds and their operations
-Strong organizational and project management skills
-Minimum 5-7 years of experience in an internal marketing department or agency required
-Degree in Communications/Public Relations/Advertising or related field
-Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
-Must have strong verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
