The Services team has an opening for a savvy and seasoned Web Producer who can produce and program content for national homepage (one of the most visited websites on the internet), as well as related entry points. The candidate will be instrumental in the production and maintenance of content such as but not limited to web pages, slideshows, feature improvements, and content publishing.

The candidate will work closely with Editors, peer Producers, photo editors and members of the technical community. They will be part of a team in a fast-paced, daily publishing environment. The production hours are 5am to 7pm, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. The candidate will be required to work holiday schedules (including holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas) and occasional weekend shifts. Regular work shifts and holiday coverage will be determined and assigned on an as-needed basis. The candidate must be prepared to work all appointed hours. Occasional overtime may be required. This job will require weekend work 100% of the time.

The candidate must be able to handle multiple editorial/programming responsibilities concurrently, and work well under deadline pressure in a constantly evolving environment. Assignments can include but not be limited to working in cross-functional groups to solve issues and publish content for internal teams or content providers.
Project management skills are critical. Candidates who possess UI testing skills will also be strongly considered. The successful candidate must be able to work autonomously. The qualified candidate should have experience in publishing, online technology or web production.

Day-to-day activities may include:
• Daily production of Entry Points, including the Homepage.
• This includes updating the site per instruction by homepage editors, photo editors, or copy editors; scheduling content to go live at specified time; and checking content before publishing to ensure there are no broken images, links, etc.
• This position will primarily focus on the homepage, but could include other properties.
