Large, stable, well-known company in Chicago seeks a Production Manager to join their team!

As a leader in the creative department you will be in charge of managing, creating and implementing the creative initiatives for the Marketing and Corporate Communications Departments. Deliver strategic and creative designs and solutions across a range of marketing collateral projects including packaging, sell sheets, brochures, in-store POP, trade show materials, and corporate collateral. Implement designs to ensure all materials are print ready. Create and manage digital assets across Consumer and Industrial Divisions. Support new product development across different channels.

***Job function break down is 75% production, 25% design. You must be a doer and a manager and WANT to do production (not just design).***

Essential Duties

- Collaborate with Consumer and Industrial Products marketing/insights teams on creative direction for marketing materials.
- Conceptualize, design, refine, and produce creative solutions on packaging, sales collateral, POS material, brochures, selling tools, etc.
- Develop final production keylines for all materials.
- Work with print vendors to understand their capabilities and to ensure color and quality consistency.
- Keep up with current trends in design and applicable design technology.
- Manage/create assets and brand guidelines

Specific Tasks

- Design and keyline new packaging, advertising and sales materials from initial concepts through final artwork, approval, and production.
- Understand printer capabilities so that production standards can be achieved.
- Fulfill logo and design requests received from departments outside of marketing.
- Revise and/or update labels, bags, shipping cartons, data sheets and contracts as requested. Work with Procurement in the timely development of packaging updates and changes.
- Support market research on consumer testing of design options.
- Create and maintain computer generated art files for all segments of the business.
- Ensure that art files are available and formatted to meet required specs. Provide artwork via appropriate medium as requested for both internal and external customers.
- Maintain electronic approval database. Develop and maintain asset library.
- Create and maintain brand identity standards. Ensure both internal and external compliance to guidelines.
- Attend press runs as needed.
- Manage outside design vendors (as needed).
