Print Production Manager

Busy advertising agency needs a Print Production Manager with 5+ years of experience from an agency, client, or vendor. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of client's print advertising needs, specifically ads, out-of-home and point-of-sale (pre-press) - while supervising time, quality, scope and cost, to deliver specified requirements and ensure client satisfaction. The Print Production Manager will work with Account, Creative, Art Buyer and Studio to have the assets needed for several different projects – at the right specifications, within the right budget parameters and within the determined timelines. The Production Manager will also be working closely with Project Managers to ensure project schedules and status reports are maintained. Additionally, this position will be working very closely with third party vendors (pre-press, print, installation and fulfillment) as well as a Digital Asset Manager to secure product correct images and assets as they relate to each project’s creative. This position is the central point of communication for their project team, as well as the Print Production Department as a whole. This position must keep their projects on track by troubleshooting, predicting and communicating status and risks, as well as maintaining project estimates current to costs to date.

Requirements:
• High-school degree or equivalent required. College degree highly recommended. BA in Graphic Arts, Communications or related field helpful. MBA, considered a plus.
• Passion for, and in-depth knowledge of pre-press and print production needed.
• Experience and knowledge of Process Color Reproduction is necessary.
• Leadership experience with a multifaceted and busy team greatly encouraged.
• Automotive experience a plus.

• Must be able to communicate with internal teams to help them understand what they need from the Print Production Department and enable the vendors to meet or adjust to those needs.
• Ability to manage finances on large scale work with multiple external vendors and internal billable resources.

Technical Knowledge:
• Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office Suite of Products, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Visio.
• Working knowledge of these technologies: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, RIP devices and printing presses.
• Experience with purchasing software such as: Advantage, Donovan Data Systems, PeopleSoft, or SAP required.
