PRODUCTION ARTIST - PRINT
SUMMARY:
HY Connect is looking for a Production Artist (print-focused / digital a plus) to help our
internal studio team create press-ready mechanicals. The role will require the candidate to
interact with integrated producers, art/creative directors, designers and client services
teams (not a client-facing role) to ensure projects are executed accurately
.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
• Prepares press-ready print mechanicals with attention to detail and accuracy
• Creates, edits, prints, binds, and mounts presentation materials as needed
• Operates effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced, and deadline-driven
environment
• Takes personal responsibility for on-time deliverables and expertly crafted
designs that comply with client style guides and standards
• Confident in reading, comprehending, creating and explaining spec sheets
• Able to analyze problems, anticipate issues, and eliminate obstacles to
successfully complete projects
• Accomplished in choosing proper stock and finishes for printed items
• Uploading and properly tagging files to internal and client content management
systems
• Ability to act as a final set of eyes on deliverables
• Proficient in running press checks when required
• Maintains awareness and proficiency in pursuing new industry practices
• Complete projects for both Chicago and Milwaukee offices with some travel to
Milwaukee when needed for support.
QUALIFICATIONS
• An excellent portfolio showcasing a variety of print production campaigns
• A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a production artist
• Associate’s degree in Graphic Design or similar; Bachelors degree preferred
• Expert knowledge of the Adobe Suite CC (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), MS
Office programs (Word, PowerPoint), and Keynote
• Impeccable organization skills including file structure, file management, and
archiving
• Superior communication & problem solving skills
• Experience/Knowledge of the agency process a plus
• Solid understanding of design and print production
• Ability to properly retouch and edit images
• Follows naming and organization conventions
• Supportive team player, eager to tackle any potential challenge
