Client is seeking an experienced Print Producer who will provide purchasing expertise and strong project management skills to maintain schedules and budgets for all printed materials created by the Brand Design team. Candidate must have expert color analysis skills and extensive experience with pre-press, large- and small-format litho, and finishing techniques; experience with digital and photographic mediums is required along with supervision of on-site installations. The position is responsible for facilitating effective routing and reviewing of projects through the department. Key Qualifications ▪ 5-7 years of print production experience in an agency or in-house corporate graphic-design department. ▪ Must be a strong project manager who is proactive, highly organized, excellent at multi-tasking, comfortable under pressure and able to work effectively as a member of a team. ▪ The candidate must also be willing to travel for pre-press checks and other miscellaneous needs. Job Duties Determine project specs, then estimate and/or competitively bid print projects and maintain budget. Communicate any obstacles that would require additional funding or resources. Conduct negotiations with suppliers as necessary. Strive to meet all deadlines including tight turnaround times. Be solutions driven and have contingency plans in place. Process and track mock-ups, prototypes, electronic templates and printer proofs with vendors. Oversee external print vendors when they perform any of the above services on behalf of client. Manage suppliers during proofing, color management, and printing phases, including on-site press passes, finishing, quality control, and kit spot-checking. Print Producer will advise on best methods of kit packing and fulfillment; on-site fulfillment visits will be done on a regular basis, particularly during launch periods. Work with Procurement in accordance with corporate guidelines to ensure that accurate quotes and budget approvals are received and that the correct purchase orders are raised. Support budget owners to acknowledge receipt of suppliers’ print-related goods and services. Explore, test, and recommend new suppliers, print methods, fulfillment houses, and production techniques. Liaison between team members and vendors to ensure the greatest consistency and highest quality possible for all printed materials produced. Education B.A. or B.S., preferably in graphic design or related field.
