Policy Usability Researcher

Contract opportunity in Seattle or remote!
PART TIME - 20 hrs/wk

The standards group requires a skilled policy researcher. The work will require both primary and secondary research into multiple questions. The output will be a series of analysis documents and briefing sessions for VP and GM audiences. The researcher will have access to the resources of the corporate library, access to employees with related fields of expertise as well as the full spectrum of information available via the web. There are no current plans for bespoke quantitative surveys, but access to the work of other marketing and planning groups will be made available. This job will require familiarity with government policy-related research services. In addition, it is beneficial for this individual to have a legal research background.

Years of Experience: 5-10 years of legal experience. Need someone who has done legal research, paralegal work, or public policy work.
Ideal Candidate: 5-10 years of experience in the legal profession or public policy. Someone who has been a paralegal or lawyer will do very well in this role. This person doesn’t need to be technologist. This person will be working on soft law.

TOP MUST HAVE SKILLS:
5-10 years of experience in the legal profession or public policy
Legal background (degree or paralegal certifications required)
Background or ability to do research. Please note that writing samples are required.

Skills:
Meeting the timelines outlined.
Able to take complex topics and make them brief and digestible
Strong writing skills and condense material.
Comfortable conducting interviews both internally and externally and be inquisitive.
Needs to have annotative skillsets.
Need to be able to speak and present materials.
Time management is very important
