    This is an expanded role in a rapidly growing department with a fundamental impact on Hasbro’s go to market strategy. Specifically, the Retail and Shopper Insight team determines the shelf position of products placed in all Hasbro’s US channels of distribution. The team applies shopper insights and retailer financial analysis to increase sales by optimizing our merchandising strategies and tactics. The team is highly visible in the organization but works most closely with Brand Marketing, Sales, and Product Development.

    This role will serve as a retail merchandising and productivity expert and function as an internal consultant to Sales, Marketing, and Product Development in the areas of product line development, in-store merchandising, and assortment strategy.

    Job Responsibilities:

    Planogram Development and Management:

  • Develop shopper insight driven shelf schematics of US Toy and Game brands using JDA’s Prospace software:
  • “Gold Standard” planograms by class of trade
  • Retailer specific planograms on request from Marketing and Sales
  • Retailer specific endcap and pallet displays
    Use schematics to develop and recommend optimal merchandising strategies to Sales and Marketing
    Maintain and publish an up to date retail merchandising library
  • Key retailer store fixture and shelving dimensions
  • Key retailer shelf space allocations by season and brand
  • Key retailer shelving and merchandising requirements
  • Gold standard” representative planograms by brand
  • Packaging dimension and images for the US Toy and Game Line
  • Work with Hasbro Consumer Products to determine a process for including non-toy items in planograms
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with functional counterparts at all major retailers

  • Retail and Shopper Insight: (as needed)

  • Assist in the development and execution of primary Shopper research
  • Prepare PowerPoint based summaries of research findings for Sales and Marketing
  • Present methodologies and findings to Sales and Marketing Teams
  • Analyze and report on syndicated retail and marketplace data such as POS and reports

    Sales Meetings Support: (twice yearly)

  • Create and manage the setting of actual “Gold Standard” planograms for all relevant brands
  • Determine and allocate optimal merchandising space needed for each brand
  • Secure Marketing and Sales management approval for space allocation
  • Coordinate development of point of purchase materials, product samples, and mock up packaging
  • Allocate budget by functional area and maintain adherence to budget
  • Execute all aspects of the sales planograms and surrounding areas at or below established budget
  • Host cross functional weekly stakeholder meetings
  • Share Gold Standard Planograms globally via company Intranet
