Planning Director

San Diego agency is seeking a Planning Director- This is a contract to hire position and open to relo for the right candidate. If you meet the requirements- please apply.

Provide strategic guidance on business, in concert with account management
Lead consumer insight development (including primary and secondary research, as needed)
Develop briefing documents based on mining of strategic insights (across consumer, culture, category and company)
Develop brand architectures and other strategic deliverables, as needed
Own creation of campaign architecture and communications planning deliverables that will guide campaign development (with oversight by department head)
Lead creative briefing sessions and liaise with creative teams throughout the development process
Partner with our Media department on development of consumer connections and channel plans
Partner with Digital colleagues on engagement planning and incorporating digital strategy into overall campaign architecture
Craft and deliver strategic presentations
Along with department head, work on continually evolving strategic planning frameworks
Remain abreast of key cultural, consumer and marketing communications/innovations trends
Demonstrate facility with 3rd party research tools (e.g., Simmons/MRI, iconoculture, Mintel)

Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited university
4+ years working in Strategy as a Planner with a supervisor role, at an agency or brand
Strong attention to detail/organizational skills, and a positive approach to problem solving
Strong written, verbal communication, and presentation skills
Strong competency with MS Office, CRM Systems, Mac Apps (E.g., Keynote), digital/mobile apps, CMS platforms and other cloud-based apps
Must possess a strong backbone and be obsessed with RO

• Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently in a deadline-driven process
• Strong self-motivated and self-starting personality
