Media team provides photo research, editing and production for apps, online publishing and special projects to engage the end user and drive traffic. Work is often fast paced and topics many include entertainment, sports, travel, news, popular culture and conceptual imagery. The vendor photo editor researches, edits and produces compelling images per the style, budget, production and deadlines requirements set forth by the project editorial team and the Media Managing Photo Editor. This team works under tight deadlines, while managing speed, accuracy, details and quality.

Responsibilities
• Research editorial, press-release and stock photography from a variety of approved image sources.
• Select smart, compelling visual solutions that effectively and appropriately tell the story.
• Adhere to journalistic integrity—timeliness, accuracy, objectivity, narrative
• Adhere to set price-points to produce the highest quality content at the lowest cost
• Successfully complete production (as required) including:
o Resizing and cropping images
o Balancing color, levels, curves, sharpness, etc.
o Using of masks to cut out images
o Optimizing photos for the Web according to specifications
o Adding text overlay according to designers specs, if required
• Create accurate and succinct photo captions, as needed
• Articulate image choices verbally and in writing, as needed
• Collaborate with the Editorial team for clarification of intent, as needed
• License images per schedule using internal tools

Qualifications
• Previous photo editing experience working with commercial and editorial photography
• Excellent photo research skills; knowledge of keyword searches in stock photo and news agencies
• Broad subject knowledge including news, sports, travel and popular culture
• Resourceful, with proven ability to employ effective and creative problem-solving skills
• Team player, working directly with project team
• Ability and initiative to work independently within project guidelines
• Open and responsive to constructive criticism
• Highly skilled in Photoshop per requirements noted above; addition Photoshop expertise, a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Advanced PC skills, including Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
