This is a 3 month contract to start with the potential for reoccurring work opportunities with a well know media comapny!

The photo editor will secure photos for three sections
Weather (health and news articles)
Mandatory (Men's)
Paw Nation (Animals)

This person can be junior - midlevel

Responsible for finding, recognizing, procuring and editing compelling
photography that supports content and evokes strong response from the
viewer, while maintaining quality standards. Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience. 2-4 years
related experience. Photojournalism experience - Preferred. Skills and
Competencies: Demonstrate the ability to articulate editing choices,
maturity and communication experience to handle meetings with
programmers, designers and Senior photography editors throughout the
service. Ability to catalog, archive and retrieve photographs from
databases. Knowledge of, or ability to learn, proprietary publishing
tools. Familiarity with Portfolio Extensis, PhotoShop, and
Illustrator. Knowledge of MS Windows, MS Office. Proven self-starter with multi tasking
abilities. Demonstrate creative decision-making, problem-solving, team
building and critical thinking skills. Ability and desire to learn new
skills and work in a fast paced team environment. Major Job Duties and
Responsibilities: Coordinates the acquisition of images from vendors
outside AOL such as Wire services, stock agencies, freelance
photographers, royalty free corporations, partners and various other
sources. Edits photography for daily promo spots, features, photo
galleries for the service. Responsible for maintaining a production
schedule for photographs needed and used on the service. Understands
the legal, ethical and aesthetic use of photographs across AOL in
build, redesign and publishing.
