Walt Disney Attractions Japan, Ltd. (WDAJ) is the Disney liaison office for Tokyo Disney Resort
operated by Oriental Land Company (OLC).

▼Basic Purpose and Objective of Position:
The Park Art Direction Manager is WDI (Walt Disney Imagineering)'s front line creative conscience,
partnering with Walt Disney Attractions Japan (WDAJ) management to ensure the balance of
maintaining Disney's high standard of show quality/ story telling consistencies along with
the needs of OLC (Oriental Land Company)'s business.

The Park Art Direction Manager is responsible for creative direction, providing design intent for
Show Quality Standard (SQS), design services, venue planned work, integrated facility plan,
and WDI projects at Tokyo Disney Resort.

▼Principal Accountabilities:
・Provides day-to-day creative direction to design disciplines: show designers, graphics,
lighting, show writing, character finishing, props procurement, animation, architectural
& ride system fundamentals.
・Ensures that the other divisions of WDAJ and OLC understand the processes of
Show Quality Standards (SQS) including Show Awareness Training.
・Attends divisional meetings as a partner (i.e. Safety Organization, Engineering Services,
Operations, Foods, Merchandise, Marketing, Entertainment, etc.).
・Attends design reviews, SQS meetings, walk-throughs with area managers and OLC.
・Partners with OLC project management organizations to ensure schedules, deliverables,
and fiscal accountability.
・Builds strategic relationships with other divisions of WDAJ and OLC.
・Demonstrates ability to direct creative people and project teams.
・Demonstrates Disney knowledge and an understanding of Disney processes.
・Ability to present and sell ideas/ concepts to a wide variety of audiences.
・Organized, thorough and detail oriented, the ability to prioritize.

▼Knowledge and Skills
・10-year minimum experience in Themed Entertainment industry, ideally with WDI experience.
・Degree in Design or related field.
・Extensive prior experience in leading design teams, covering multiple disciplines including
but not exclusive to story telling, show sets, production design, special effects, animation,
ride systems, place making, color design, architectural finishes.
・Extensive knowledge and use of materials, focused on sustainment.
・Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills.
・Leadership qualities: team builder within WDI and across all lines of business.
・Clear & effective communication skills across all tiers of the company.
・Effective leadership and problem-solving abilities with fast-paced, design & construction environment.
・Ability to present and sell ideas/ concepts to a wide variety of audiences.
・Organized, thorough and detail oriented, the ability to prioritize.
・High level of motivation, strong self-starter & strong problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced environment.
・Skilled negotiator.
・Exceptional integrity.
