Directs the Product Marketing Managers in establishing/defining the visual goals and objectives for package design in order to graphically communicate marketing objectives.
This position then coordinates the work of outside design firms insuring that packaging design projects are within budget norms, on track with product objectives, in compliance with corporate branding guidelines and are reproducible through different printing processes on various substrates.
Incumbent may also work with outside sources to coordinate customer branded packaging materials.
Coordinates the production of all packaging within their brand stewardship including: project management, design to print decisions, corrugated container development and government compliance.
Monitors print production for converter's compliance to established visual targets utilizing statistical process control.
Maintains a working knowledge of food packaging laws.
Remains current in the areas of package graphics development including design trends and pre-media technology changes. Knowledge in this area is then applied to development and production processes within the department.
A bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience in packaging, graphic design, pre-media and printing or 3+ years in creative or marketing project management.
Working knowledge of structural package design used to develop graphic communications.
