Packaging Production Manager

Print Production Manager is responsible for managing the production of high volume, high quality print collateral, signage and fixturing, as well as estimating and vendor sourcing/relations.

Position Responsibilities:

PRODUCTION
- Point person for the production of assigned print jobs, from approved art through finishing, packing and delivery for work printed on company premises or off-site at business affiliate locations.
- Verifying costs / change orders / scope of services changes as required by internal Project Managers.
- Representing the company on off-site press-checks, insuring color accuracy and Q/C’ing of work.
- Partner with internal project leads for the pre-planning of each print job.
- Monitoring and continuously evaluating existing vendors to ensure performance meets internal quality standards and expectations.
- Assist as needed in in-store installation activities.

ESTIMATING/RESOURCING
- Identify and research alternate materials, methods and ideas that provide value engineered solutions on behalf of our clients needs and budgets.
- Developing cost estimates and price summaries for specified jobs.
- Maintain updated database of vendor resources.
- Support the sourcing of projects, including the preparation of Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Request for Quotation (RFQs) and evaluating responses to determine final supplier selection.
- Ensure Confidentiality Agreements are executed for all new vendors, prior to client work specifications release, in cooperation with the Managing Director’s office.

Qualifications:
- 5 to 7 years experience in print production management.
- 5+ years sourcing and estimating in multiple printing methods on multiple substrates.
- Deep knowledge of printing processes (digital and offset) and finishing processes.
- Experience with sourcing and estimating for custom designed acrylic, wood, metal and corrugated permanent and temporary retail fixturing is a major plus.
- Knowledge of different materials and substrates used for signage, POP display, fixtures in the retail environment.
- Strong project management skills (trafficking, oversight of multi-bid processes, driving workflow, meeting deadlines etc.)
- Must possess excellent organizational, multi-tasking and communications skills.
- An eye for color and detail.
- Excellent mathematical aptitude.
- Master of Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications and Word.
- Expertise in Excel and Filemaker Pro highly desired.
