Vitamin T's client is looking for a Packaging Director to join their team! This is a Temp-to-Perm, full-time position based in Fairfield, New Jersey.

The Packaging Director is responsible for creating exciting logos, retail packaging, retail product displays, and sales materials for the company’s new product launches. The Packaging Director will work with in-house graphic
designers and 3rd party contractors to execute their vision of the above marketing materials. They will strategize and brainstorm with the Product Development, Marketing, and Sales teams to produce high-quality work that is delivered on time. They thrive in a high-energy, fast-paced environment with a small group of hard-working individuals who love what they do. The successful candidate has a passion for project management, retail merchandising, and has strong written & visual communication skills.

Core Responsibilities:

• (40%) Spearhead development of Logos, Retail Packaging Copy, Retail Packaging Visuals, Product Displays, Trade Advertisements, and Sales Materials - Support decisions through researching the product and competitive marketplace.

• (30%) Direct Graphic Designers & 3rd Party Contractors to create each of the above marketing materials while managing quality of work and internal timelines.

• (20%) Distill copy, visual communication, and overall marketing approach with internal teams and outside resources (via surveys, focus groups, etc.).

• (5%) Continuously improve copyrighting, design, and communication skills. Develop a reference library for high-quality work and create SOP’s for future projects.

• (5%) Regularly monitor marketing success through sales of the company’s products, competitive analysis, and retail store checks.

Required Qualifications:

• BS or equivalent (preferably in Business, Communications or Marketing)

• 5+ years of experience in related field

• Strong understanding of Copywriting, Photography, Typography, and Graphic Composition as it relates to Retail Packaging

• Very strong written communication skills

• Attention to detail and an eye for quality

• Excellent people & management skills to interact with internal & external teams

• Self-starter & team player who can manage deadlines and priorities for multiple projects

• Experience in a CPG company making product for major retailers (Wal-Mart, Target, Home Depot, Bed Bath & Beyond, Etc.) or major retail catalogs

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge and Experience with Adobe Create Suite Products strongly preferred

• Understanding of Retail Merchandising a plus

• A perfectionist who doesn’t accept “good enough” and strives for greatness in their work
