Packaging Designer

A great toy package will protect and showcase the product, clearly communicate features, as well as reinforce a larger brand statement. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about package design and will actively participate in our creative process.

The Designer will collaborate with packaging engineers copywriters, product design and marketing throughout the packaging development process. Typical development of a package can include, but is not limited to, line look development; logo development; structural development; direction of illustration and/or photography; product pack-out; and presenting various stages of the project during reviews to management. Candidates must be proficient in Illustrator and Photoshop. Strong typography skills and a keen understanding of package communication hierarchy are required. It is necessary for Project Designers to clearly articulate their thought processes to peers as well as management. Ability to work with a diverse group of people is a must.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Contribute in the ideation and development of new graphics, branding, photographic and communication executions that support the brand strategy, from concept to mechanical
-Direct outside vendors that support individual business needs
-Support more than one aspect of the brand
-Collaborate with cross-functional partners throughout process
-Clear communication with Asia partners to support entire Design & Development process
-Successfully present and communicate concepts to creative and marketing leaders

Skills:

Must be proficient in: Illustrator, Photoshop, and Adobe Acrobat
-Strong typography skills
-An understanding of information hierarchy
-Print production knowledge
-Art direct photo shoots
-Team player
-Clear and concise communications skills, both written & spoken
-Confidence when presenting work
-Interest and knowledge of the current trends related to our brand; fashion, design, structure, toy, etc.

Education:
Bachelor's degree required, Graphic Design major preferred
