A good package is a perfect balance of product communication, brand expression, and visual appeal. My client is seeking an energized Packaging Designer for its packaging design team. This team delivers award-winning and innovative packages for Toys. Our ideal candidate will excel at communicating concepts visually and verbally, and be a great cross-functional team player. Up-to-date knowledge of youth culture and the latest graphic trends is critical. Professional packaging design experience is ideal.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary function of the Packaging Designer is to communicate the appeal of our products, while meeting real-world needs of the retail environment.
Develop rough concepts quickly with sketches or computer
Execute final designs based on input from art directors
Work closely with packaging engineers to conceptualize innovative structures
Partner with marketing counterparts to ensure package meets commercial needs
Art direct photo shoots (product and/or people)
Art direct external vendors such as illustrators, photographers, re-touchers, etc.
Create 3D package comps for presentations
Communicate with our production team in Asia to ensure quality and integrity of package execution.
Present your work effectively to cross-functional teams
Skills BASIC EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS REQUIRED
Passion for design; creative thinker that strives for innovation
In-depth knowledge of Photoshop & Illustrator
Ability to see the big picture while not losing focus of details
Team player (ability to work with direct & indirect team members)
Ability to take and give creative direction
Up to date on current trends (graphics, advertising, fashion, cosmetics, entertainment, etc.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects in order to meet tight deadlines
Good communication skills
