Our client, who own a global retail presence are looking for a Packaging Design Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.

This role offers fantastic opportunity to own and lead multi-billion pound projects to reconnect shoppers with Modern Britain.

Being a Senior team member, supporting the HOD & Packaging, the Packaging Design Manager will be working very closely with the Internal Team of 25, Partners and Top Agencies to identify opportunities to bring compelling propositions together.. From measuring success and improvements, the team will own the entire journey.

Liaising with Brand Directors to understand the brand needs, the Packaging Design Manager will be communicating accordingly to internal team and agencies to align brand and commercial objectives. From mentoring, coaching, leading and challenging the team, the chosen candidate will be working with team members to ensure the best possible ideas and solutions are being delivered.

Responsible for the entire look and feel of all own label packaging across the brand and retailers, the Packaging Design Manager will ensure that throughout this highly collaborative approach, that they are involved from briefings through to delivery, including developing the design strategy, ensuring creative excellence is being carried out at all times.

With over 20,000 artworks per year, the internal team will consist of Artwork and Print specialists, a Workflow Manager, a Design Manager/Project Manager and various Administrative staff.


Must be articulate and passionate, with the ability to demonstrate capability in stepping up, coaching, mentoring and leading their team members.

Must be highly organised, self-motivated, with excellent communication and influential skills.

Must have the ability to really understand challenges of the brand, identify problems and work with the team to find solutions to get the best out of problems.

Must posses strong leadership skills, whilst being a true thinker and natural problem solver, with a curious mind and excellent attention to detail

Must be comfortable liaising with and presenting to very Senior Stakeholders and CEO's.

The ideal candidate can come from an Account Director or Account Manager background, however the chosen candidate must be design illiterate with packaging experience, leadership skills and experience of translating business needs into a design strategy.

This isn't a hands on design role, however the Packaging Design Manager will need skills to sketch out, articulate and convey ideas to influence large groups of approximately 60 people, both internal and from agencies, to ensure that everyone is on the same page
