CONTRACT: 6 MONTHS
LOCATION: NEW YORK, NY
PAY: $15/HOUR

** A FORTUNE 500 FASHION COMPANY IS LOOKING FOR AN EXCEPTIONAL DESIGN ASSISTANT / COORDINATOR **

SUMMARY:
The Design Assistant / Coordinator would work to ensure all design and development information is organized and communicated effectively during the design and product creation process. The coordinator will also work cross functionally to ensure proper flow of information to other internal teams as well as with factory/supplier partners.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Update and distribute weekly work in progress report based on updates from the factories
• Update excel t&a file, noting tech pack x date, pronto receipt date, quality being used, print/color, costing, fit comment send out date, updated fit sample private label due date, LD approval date, S/O approval date
• Update daily calendar reminders based on comments due, styles needed to be fit, due dates by week of when fit comments need to go out, etc.
• Update records of all style components on server/hard copies for: trims, prints, colors, CAD’s, fit images, specs, fit comments, documents from factories, etc.
• Organize and update line sheets and distribute/communicate changes to cross-functional team – check in every Monday morning with all suppliers to request any updated documents
• Receive and verify invoices for modeling agency and dept. expenses – forward to Product Development Associate for approval
• Update and organize private label development boards (sketch, CAD, print updates) on a weekly basis to prep for buying and high level meetings
• Monitor garment label inventory weekly and coordinate label orders between vendors
• Help support Product Development Associate to set up vendors
• Is the main point of contact for all package receiving, updates team and ensures packages are handled appropriately
• File/archive fit/ top samprivate labeles in sample or private label room and document current location of garment if with web/marketing

REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design or Product Development
• Experience in design or production
• Effective written and vernal communication skills
• Basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
• Basic understanding of garment construction and specs
• Refined design and color sense
• Good time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Proven organizational skills, including the ability to balance and meet the demands of multiple projects
• Concept (hand sketching) and technical (digital) illustration ability
