** A FORTUNE 500 FASHION COMPANY IS LOOKING FOR AN EXCEPTIONAL PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANT FOR MEN’S KNITS AND SWEATERS **

SUMMARY:
Accountable for supporting the Product Development team in building product, in partnership with Design, R&D, Technical Design and Merchandising that achieves aesthetic, quality and cost requirements against brand standards.

RESPONSIBLITIES:
• Develop and maintain an understanding of our brand aesthetic and work with Product Development team to support the development of the product line
• Develop and maintain an awareness of how raw materials perform when in garment form
• Assist with timely review of raw materials selection and good/better/best process during sketch review
• Collaborate with GIS to ensure sample development meets the brand goals for quality and aesthetic
• Help to coordinator the presentation of any proto types, washes, testing results and cost options to design in preparation for alignment in partnership with R&D
• Develop and maintain an awareness of AUC
• Assist with preliminary costing and product options to solve for cost issues and sharing cross functional partners
• Create, maintain, and track sample requests and BOMs through product adoption
• Assist with frolling and help create / track open issues during alignment and development trips
• Work with cross functional teams to assist in troubleshooting open issues
• Track cost effective options, samples, and submits
• Ensure system upkeep and data integrity is maintained through development process

REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 1 year of Production or Product Development related work experience
• Manufacturing knowledge – trade regulations, testing protocol, product integrity
• Garment production knowledge – production cycle timeline, garment construction and garment costing
• Retail math knowledge: AUC, AUR, IMU
• Good aesthetic, design and color sense
• Solid understanding of design process and garment/product construction
• Computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, web-based applications
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Strong detail orientation and follow through skills
• Organize and prioritize multiple projects
• Have a sense of urgency in managing time and accomplishing tasks
• Demonstrate proactive problem solving skills
• Create and maintain a cooperative team environment that promotes high performance standards and attainment of goals
• Demonstrated drive for results
