PR Senior Media & Communications Officer - 14 months mat leave!

This is a rare opportunity to work within a charity that operates health space with campaigns spanning sports and celebrity at both a national and regional level! My client is a fantastic organisation in the charitable, health and wellness space; in fact they are ranked in the top 10 of Australia’s most reputable charities. They are looking for an organized and passionate Senior Media & Communications Officer to join their supportive and smart team on a long-term maternity contract.

This role is responsible for supporting the Media & Communications Director and their team in the day-to-day running of the media and communications function for the organisation.

You will be responsible for the following:

• Cultivate and maintain proactive and reactive media relationships across the consumer, industry and business sectors to ensure the Charity’s profile is maintained and their messages achieve maximum cut through.
• Ensuring the media contact databases are kept up to date with clear tracking notes.
• Work with the media and communications team to identify proactive media opportunities and implement them in a timely manner to achieve media results.
• Develop media materials including media releases, backgrounders, alerts, briefing notes and op-eds.
• Campaign leveraging
• Develop content for communications such as EDMs and thought leadership content
• Assess briefs and develop media & communications plans to support campaign objectives.
• Identify and work with suppliers who can amplify activities e.g. radio agencies, video production businesses etc.
• Collaborate with stakeholders from different organisational functions
• Develop and manage campaign reporting mechanisms.
• Facilitate communications support where appropriate e.g. PR tool kits and press releases.
• Develop content and amplification recommendations for social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube.
• Manage and support the Media & Communications Officer as appropriate.
• Adhere to all financial management procedures that apply to normal working practice.
