PR Senior Account Manager - Consumer, Sport, Entertainment

My client has an opportunity for an accomplished, driven and passionate Senior Account Manager who has the ambition to grow into a leadership role in the agency as it embarks on an exciting growth phase.  Their consultants work on fewer clients in a more meaningful way so consultants are deeply involved and not spread thinly across many clients.

The role presents an exceptional opportunity to further develop your skills in PR strategy, client management skills and stakeholder engagement; expand your media and business network; and harness your creativity.  It will see you will work with industry leaders and international ambassadors, maintain and grow existing relationships with major media partners, with the opportunity for you to travel internationally.

You will also work alongside a General Manager and leadership team to grow the consumer client portfolio. For consultants wishing to develop their career, this role is an ideal mix - a unique consumer client opportunities, new business development, and people management.

As a Senior Account Manager, you will take an active role in driving outcomes and managing client programs on a day-to-day basis and provide reliable, helpful and valuable insights and counsel. You understand campaign strategy and enjoy working with all levels to establish the best course of action to meet your client’s needs.

· Strong and growing knowledge of PR and communication principles and techniques

· Managing junior team members

· Ability to build relationships with clients

· Excellent knowledge of media ownership, publications and journalists reporting for major outlets

· Understanding trends and news that may affect the PR industry and your clients

· End-to-end budget management

· Strong skills in written and verbal communication and strong presentation skills

· Ability to accept constructive feedback and use it to grow

· Successfully managing an account; ‘owning’ briefs, while understanding appropriate points to seek counsel and when to manage up

PR experience:

· Minimum five years working in a PR or journalism role

· Undergraduate degree in PR, Communications or Journalism is preferred but not mandatory
