6 month contract with Fortune 500 Tech company in the Bay Area!

The PR Manager is a position responsible for driving the outreach, influence and visibility of our client including but not limited to media, industry influencers, partners, prospects and customers. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for a seasoned PR professional to drive strategic programs aimed at increasing the company’s brand awareness.

Must be able to work across the organization to develop and coordinate PR activities, including cross-product and cross-solution strategies. The ideal candidate will be both independent and a team player focused on excellence; know how to drive creative PR programs, successful product launches, and collaborate with people at all levels; have strong media relationships; have a solid know-how for social media; possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills; have experience with and passion for the high technology industry; be highly organized and able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with a solid track record in public relations. This position is based in Santa Clara, CA and may require travel.

Primary Responsibilities
1. Accountable for executing on the 2015 PR plan for this product group
2. Drive measurable results for the group in alignment with 2015 goals
3. Support executives on the best PR and social media strategy for owned products and solutions in the context of the company’s vision
4. Work directly with the internal PR team and agency team to support overall corporate objectives and to ensure consistency in messaging and positioning for products and solutions across all integrated communications activities and programs
5. Work closely with the social media team on social strategy and execution
6. Work proactively and directly with international colleagues
7. Proactively secure strategic placement of press coverage
8. Manage the day-to-day activities associated with the company’s PR agency
9. Project management of product reviews and product announcements
10. Represent client at industry tradeshows, press tours, conferences and other events, as needed
11. Perform other PR and communications duties as assigned

Qualifications (knowledge, skills, abilities)
1. A ‘can do’ attitude and ability to inspire teams, colleagues, and executives
2. Strong background in PR and corporate communications, including established media relationships
3. Experienced in managing PR agency relationships
4. Understanding and affinity for technology and a motivation to learn product details
5. Ability to execute with excellence
6. Demonstrated ability to work independently under pressure, managing resources and several projects simultaneously with minimal supervision
7. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
8. Strong work ethic, integrity and organizational skills
9. Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team setting

Requirements (Education, Certification, Training, and Experience)
Minimum 5-7 years of technology PR experience.
