PR Client Services Director - Fashion & Lifestyle

My client is a boutique Sydney based PR agency focusing on the fashion industry representing a mix of Australian and international brands. They have a very exciting role for a PR Client Services Director/Account Director, which reports straight into the MD. This is a fantastic career opportunity and you will be responsible for managing a number of exciting and creative client programs and projects and have line management responsibility for 10 staff.

Responsibilities:

• Writing for media and social media, oversee research and drafting of media releases and research and write a wide range of media materials
• Ensure the highest standard of writing across client accounts under management
• Develop media strategy and news angles and lead brainstorms to generate media strategy and story ideas
• Generating media coverage - Leading the development and delivery of client pitches and PR strategies / programs and organising / managing staff to assist with these
• Proactively develop and pitch media opportunities for clients
• Media/blogger relationships - Hold and develop strong working relationships with client relevant media – print, broadcast, blogger and online
• Strategy and programming - Lead discussions with clients to understand PR briefs
• Leading the compilation and reconciliation of client budgets using strong critical analysis and problem solving skills
• Account management - Autonomously manage medium to large retainer accounts
• Build relationships with clients as the senior day-to-day point of contact
• Oversee production of timely and accurate delivery of client reports, media clip reports, emails and correspondence
• Budgeting and Finance - Ensure team follows finance guidelines at all times, including accuracy in supplier purchasing and timely dispatch of invoices
• Develop and present budget scope of works to clients and internal team
• People management - Contribute to staff reviews and development via involvement at staff appraisal for those members in your team as required
• Assist MD with staff appraisal meetings and help compile training and development action plans for staff
• Manage 6 direct reports and ensure reports meet role their KPIs
• Mentor, coach and support direct reports in client management, media and communication skills
• Leadership - Represent company in a professional and ethical manner at all times
• New Business - Contribute to new business through lead generation, proposal compilation including setting critical time paths for completion, alerting all staff who need to be involved, managing their involvement etc
• Lead and project manage new business proposal production
• Present at pitch meetings demonstrating clear, persuasive verbal presentation skills
• Attend industry and client relevant events

Requirements:

• 6-8 years PR agency experience
• A strong track record in media relations, writing, social media, account management and program development.
• A degree in PR or journalism along with experience in the Australian market
• A strong knowledge of news, lifestyle and social media
• Self motivated and proactive
• Positive attitude
• Critical and analytical thinker
• High emotional intelligence
• Ability to gracefully handle high pressure working environment
