Outreach Coordinator

This position is in support of a Military Communications Department that develops and executes a worldwide communications program in support of the Military Health System (MHS) health care program, a multi-billion dollar health care enterprise affecting 9.6 million beneficiaries. The MHS communications program includes developing and directing a comprehensive, aggressive strategic communication plan to increase public awareness of the accomplishments and direction of the MHS in health care delivery, population health promotion, medical research, medical education and training.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
 Assist with the development implementation and execution of strategic outreach initiatives
 Provides support capability to conduct integrated outreach communications programs designed to proactively educate and inform all stakeholders and fosters relationships with entities, partners, veteran service organizations, military service organizations, federal agencies, congressional committees and members and the general public to further promote the mission.
 Assists with the assessment and facilitation of opportunities for personnel to engage in speaking, presenting and attending opportunities at symposia, conferences and training sessions sponsored by non-governmental groups as well as validating their legal/ethical appropriateness.
 Supports strategic planning and organizational development workshops.
 Supports wide-ranging event and symposia planning and execution to include conferences and meetings as required.
 Produces content and media as necessary in support of both outreach and overarching communications initiatives.
 Coordinates logistical support for stakeholders for planned events.
 Coordinates content and graphic requirements as assigned.
 Updates and maintains various databases for meetings, events and contact information of stakeholders.

MINIMUM TANGIBLE QUALIFICATIONS: (bullet format)
 Excellent writing, communication, time management and organizational skills.
 Strong MS PowerPoint and Excel skills.
 Attention to detail; ability to build and maintain relationships with government and military associates.
 Exceptional ability to work within a team environment as well as own and manage projects and tasks without direct supervision.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (bullet format)
 Experience with the DoD or the Military Health System is preferred.
 Experience with high profile personnel events, marketing or public relations preferred.
 Photography and/or video production experience preferred.

Must HOLD or be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance

Applicants selected for this position must be eligible to obtain an active/interim DoD Public Trust clearance. Applicants selected for a security clearance will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirement.
