Online Merchandiser

Our large Fortune 500 client is seeking a talented Online Merchandiser! This is a 10 month contract with potential for permanent placement.

The Online Merchandiser is responsible for meeting planned sales and gross margin goals for their designated area of merchandise sold online. The role entails increasing online conversion through online analytics, user experience, and on-site merchandising by improving cross-sells and other cross merchandising opportunities. The position is responsible for meeting the sales and margin plan within their respective categories online. This also entails managing merchandise assortment, testing and resolving site issues. The position interacts with other business owners to significantly improve the profitability and maximize shareholder value.


1. Website cross-merchandising
• Ensure content is active on the respective category/brand/product pages
• Support tracking/performance and reconciliation of financials from website strategy

2. Monitor performance of your category on a daily and weekly basis
• Ensure the key product indicators are in line with expectations and that errors are not occurring
• Understand the drivers of good and bad performance
• Evaluate and recommend must have’s and opportunities based on key metrics
3. Follow up and support Online Merchandise Manager and General Manager on projects and ad hoc request
• Follow through to execution, check for accuracy and confirm completion
4. Maintain timeliness in the visual merchandising and marketing processes
• Ensure that all merchandising, marketing and promotion deadlines are met
5. Maintain solid relationships with the online support staff.


• Bachelor’s degree from four year college or university or 4 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience

• 4 years of related experience, preferably within Retail, and/or Ecommerce Merchandising.
• Prior e-commerce experience is desirable
