Online Marketing Strategist

The Online Marketing Strategist will develop a vision for both external and internal web-based content systems and oversee the ongoing adoption of that vision for all aspects of company online. You will build search strategy to drive traffic, action, and revenue across all departments. In addition to reviewing, editing and optimizing site content, this person will work closely with the IT team to develop and maintain site standards with regard to new development and with company Marketing teams to centrally coordinate promotions and affiliate marketing activity.

Position Responsibilities:
• To drive traffic, action and revenue across all core departments while developing integrated online marketing plans, with detailed campaigns and programs for the current fiscal year that will generate sales, leads, bookings and future pipeline demand creation.
• Analyze and influence initiative/campaign synergies among business unit marketing plans to maximize effectiveness and instill focus on companywide key objectives.
• Develop an ongoing strategy and vision for external web presence and the tools that are used ensuring that the desired image and “Brand” are appropriately represented.
• Develop an ongoing strategy and vision for internal web presence and the tools that are used ensuring consistency and expectations for the site are met.
• Work closely with IT to select, develop and implement desired solutions.
• Establish baseline and on-going reporting to effectively show the impacts of varies SEO efforts along with Welk’s overall ratings.
• Conduct regular reviews of search engine presence for key/topical terms.
• Ownership of search engine optimization strategy and advise on operational plans.
• Work with the Senior Management team to develop display an affiliate strategy to drive cost-effective traffic, cross-promotion, action and revenue for Welk’s online portfolio.
• Responsible for centrally coordinating search, display and affiliate marketing activity within the digital communications team.
• Negotiate, implement and manage ongoing relationships with all key online partners while identifying all e-marketing opportunities.
• Develop and execute campaign/category specific online marketing plans with internal departments, agencies and online alliance partners.
• Ensure that relevant tracking is in place to measure success of individual campaigns and return on investment company-wide.
• Advise Senior Management team on best practice and industry standards – to include informational workshops.
• Work with Social Media Strategist to optimize all social media marketing efforts.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Management, with focus in online/digital marketing.
• 3-5 years experience managing SEO, online marketing and channel/product management for high volume websites.
• This position requires a detailed-oriented professional with exceptional verbal and written communication skills, a high technical acumen with excellent organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Proven ability to build consensus and work effectively within a cross-functional environment.
• SEO/SEM experience, with expert knowledge of the key search engines, Google, Bing, Yahoo.
• Advanced knowledge of HTML and experience with WordPress, Microsoft SharePoint and other content management systems.
• Experience developing and implementing company-wide SEO standards and practices.
• Successful record of utilizing web analytics to drive activity and achieve results - Google Analytics and AdWords certification a plus.
• Travel/Tourism industry experience a plus.
