Primary Function:
The Online Marketing Specialist will be responsible for all online content generation and management for the Alliant web sites, blog and social media properties as well as the daily word-of-mouth (WOM) marketing activities. This person will deliver friendly, efficient and personalized service online and provide content that empowers our members to be financially fit. This person will be responsible for maintaining the brand voice and personality online.

Daily duties involve managing social media interactions and campaigns, writing content for web sites and some emails, influencer-outreach efforts, executing promotions and protecting the brand online.

Candidates should be able to combine the art and science of marketing. The right candidate will be passionate about social media and providing an exemplarily member experience and able to use data and critical thinking to improve member retention and satisfaction in addition to new member acquisition. General supervision is received from the Online Marketing Manager.

Suggested training and experience:
Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field. A minimum of three years of marketing communication, social media and/or digital marketing experience. Solid track record of successfully developing projects from start to completion.

Strong, proven written skills: ability to write concise, engaging and informative copy. Strong project management, organizational and planning skills. Experience with social networking sites, blogs, mobile applications and online video required. Must be proactive, have the ability to work independently, and take the initiative to not only stay abreast of by also implement strategic digital and social communication trends and tools.

Proficiency in MS Office Suite of products is required. Experience with Google Analytics, social media monitoring and management tools as well as content management systems, HTML, and SEO required. General interest and daily use of existing and new web technologies is a must.


Social Media & Digital Content Development & Management
• Implements the online content marketing and social media strategy for every phase of the credit union member’s lifecycle
• Tracks and responds to real-time online conversations, working with our customer service team, and report on online reputation management for the brand and specific campaigns
• Writes optimized (SEO) original content, leveraging internal subject matter experts, and curates content that will add value to Alliant members
• Develops digital campaigns, including items such as videos, infographics, blog posts, ebooks, video tutorials, social media ads, help menus/content for online apps, etc.
• Responsible for maintaining and growing existing credit union social networks, including Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Google+ and Facebook, in terms of reach, influence and engagement
• Advocates for the integration of social media and digital channels into other marketing campaigns
• Works collaboratively with internal stakeholders and marketing communications team to produce and implement digital campaigns
• Identifies influencers online, including bloggers, journalists and member brand ambassadors, and manage outreach to them

Digital Measurement & Project Management
• Authors and maintains project schedules, campaign briefs, statements of work, and cost estimates with input from team members as needed
• Prioritizes projects to align with business objectives, market needs, and resource allocation
• Ensures that all project deliverables are on schedule, and within specification and budget; monitors financial and digital tracking
• Monitors effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media and content programs, and analyzes, reviews, and reports on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results
• Regularly provides feedback and insights gained from social media monitoring into the Member Engagement, Marketing and Product Management teams to help them evolve their strategies in a timely fashion
• Monitors trends and best practices in digital communications and tools
• Assists with training and education of employees on digital media
