Online Marketing Manager

Position Description


Our client, a leading financial services organization is looking for a talented and driven Online Marketing Manager to join the team for a 5 month contract.

The main goal of this position is to manage the student loan business online marketing strategy by successfully promoting products to maximize the acquisition of new student loan customers. Directly responsible for strategy through execution of online marketing channels such as paid search marketing, display advertising, electronic lender listings, affiliate networks and aggregators.



Responsibilities


  • Gathers baseline industry, competitive and customer research to develop a comprehensive view of appropriate online marketing strategies.


  • Defines scope of online marketing initiatives, leads business requirements and manages project plans through the full life-cycle which often requires cross-functional involvement and support.


  • Identifies key performance indicators, and in particularly, metrics that drive financial results. Assess the cost-efficiency of strategies and improves through optimization of campaigns.


  • Manages agency partnerships to cost-effective marketing strategies. Manages expense forecasting and billing for programs to ensure quality and accuracy.


  • Coordinates closely with Law & Compliance teams in adherence to processes, policies and controls. Follows marketing standards, guidelines and recommends process improvements.


  • Manages activities on marketing drive calendar and coordinates marketing campaigns across multiple, concurrent efforts within Discover Student Loans Marketing team.


  • Exceptional strategic thinking, project management and execution skills to manage multiple strategies, various business requirements, timelines and budgets all in a fast-paced, evolving environment.


  • Exceptional analytical skills. Good understanding of profitability drivers, key performance indicators and their impacts.


  • Requirements


  • At least 3 years of experience in Online or Digital Marketing


  • 4 year college degree


  • Exceptional strategic thinking, project management and execution skills to manage multiple strategies, various business requirements, timelines and budgets all in a fast-paced, evolving environment.


  • Exceptional analytical skills. Good understanding of profitability drivers, key performance indicators and their impacts.


  • Ability to assess competitive picture and past performance, and then develop appropriate strategies and tactics to maximize future outcomes.


  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to be able to establish and grow relationships with internal business partners.


  • Ability to efficiently navigate internal processes, influence others to see alternative points of view and strong problem-solving skills.


  • Experience in positioning, messaging, copywriting, proofreading and editorial best practices.
