On-Air Media Planning Coordinator

This position is responsible for scheduling all promo, interstitials and other on-air graphic elements for the final on-air look of the network. Other key responsibilities include but are not limited to: executing media plans issued for stunt, synergy and sponsorship initiatives, detailed proofing of the final on-air log, problem solving on-air discrepancies, assisting with monthly production work orders and additional projects as needed.

This position works very closely with broadcast Traffic, On-air Promotion, and Production departments. Applicant must have excellent communication skills. Because this position focuses on attention to detail both technically as well as creatively, this person should be highly detailed and deadline oriented.

Candidate must understand and master the strategic process of guiding the viewer within a broadcast day, through the use of on-air promo elements.

Insure proper implementation of promotional elements according to media priorities.
* Maintain knowledge of OAP inventory and Research reports to help drive ratings and enrich viewing experience.
* Provide input regarding the development of needed promotional elements (i.e. spot lengths, tracks)
* Be able to proof-read logs of other team members for errors and adherence to promotional priorities.
* Have clear understanding of promotional terms, formats and on-air look.
* Cross train in order to provide necessary backup to the team as needed.

Experience
* Minimum 1 year in media related field preferred
* GRIP iT, Wide Orbit and File Maker Pro knowledge is a plus
* Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
* Can demonstrate ability to follow directions and take ownership of assignments to completion
* Must work well under deadline pressure and exhibit ability to be a strong team player
Education B.A. or B.S. in Marketing, Television, Communications or other related field.
