New Business Coordinator/Manager

The business development manager is responsible for all components of the development and maintenance of our client's agency new business program, partnering with the new business team to develop the business development plan. This position generates new business leads and prospects for the agency, along with doing research on prospects. The business development manager maintains the prospect database, manages mailings to leads and prospects and is the key person coordinating, writing and completing RFPs that come to their agency. This position is ideal for someone with around 2-5 years of experience, as it's not a director-level role. Qualifications Include:

• Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, business or a related field.
• 4+ years of marketing/sales experience.
• Outstanding interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Strong business communication writing skills.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Exceptional team player in a collaborative environment.
• Ability to lead from strategic concept to tactical implementation.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Plans, organizes and prepares a budget for new business promotion efforts.
• Collects, analyzes and interprets data on present and prospective new business clients.
• Maintains personal contact by mail/phone/email with new business database contacts, providing them with information, agency news and items of general interest; practices effective sales efforts with these contacts, resulting in an increase in new business for the agency.
• Manages all components of prospect database system including primary, secondary and general target prospects (including adding new data, routinely cleaning data and editing as necessary).
• Responsible for writing and submitting responses to RFPs and other new business proposals along with agency blogs and other business development materials.
• Regularly meets with the new business team to keep them informed of new business activities and prospects; contributes to identifying effective promotion and advertising vehicles pertinent to agency’s goals and strategies.
• Manages all aspects of agency involvement for both exhibiting and presenting at healthcare-related conferences and seminars and represents the agency at these events, with other members of the new business team.
• Analyzes new business program effectiveness and recommends improvements.
