Job Title: Event Connectivity Technician 


Duties: Seeking a contractor to help our Massive Social Media Client connect the world, one event at a time. This position will work with our EMEA event managers and A/V technical producers based in London to ensure robust connectivity is in place for our highest priority events in the region. Position will be the singular resource for EMEA event connectivity and provide technical support at events as needed. Opportunity to work on some of Facebook's most impactful projects in the region including Davos WEF, Mobile World Congress, Cannes Lions Festival, and many more. Position will report into Offsite Events Connectivity manager at FB HQ in Menlo Park, CA, and will need to operate independently in this role. 

Reviews client requests and provides technical support for the integration network services at Events 
Coordinates all proposals and work provided by event venues, HSIA providers, ISPs, and/or 3rd party vendors 
Deploys, tests, and supports Event networks, WiFi, Tech Assets, Help Desk, and Demo Technology 
Builds working relationships with our global event technology resources and provides reports on vendor performance 
Owns the technical support lifecycle and is responsible for managing technical risks through planning and delivery
Communicates and enforces connectivity standards 

Skills: 
Strong working knowledge of the following technologies (listed in order of importance): 

WiFi fundamentals and RF troubleshooting 
LAN/WAN fundamentals and relevant protocols 
Regional Internet Service Provider options 
Mac OS operation and troubleshooting 
Windows 10 operation and troubleshooting 
Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 
Cisco IOS and/or Juniper JUNOS 

Strong organizational, documentation, and coordination skills along with multi-tasking capabilities to get things done in a fast paced environment 
Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, including relationship building and collaboration within a diverse, highly technical team 
Experience providing technical support for executive-level employees and Web or Internet start-up experience a big plus 
Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends as needed 
Ability to travel an average of 3 weeks per month 

Keywords: 
Education: 
Secondary education completion or equivalent required 
Technical training or IT certifications such as CCNA and CWNA highly preferred 
3-5 years prior experience in Information Technology with exposure to Corporate Networks, Wireless Networks, IT Asset Management, IT Help Desk Troubleshooting, Interactive Technologies, Video Conferencing, and/or IT Logistics 
1-2 years prior Event Connectivity work experience in a technician role
