Multimedia Designer

This position is responsible for the design and development of complex communications to be deployed through a variety of multimedia channels – including digital publishing, interactive graphics, mobile applications, video, web sites, and traditional design solutions (including print media). This position requires critical, observational, quantitative, and analytic thinking and understanding of design principles. The job requires working knowledge of a wide range of web and multimedia technologies and a commitment to keeping abreast of industry trends, evaluating leading practices and new service offerings, and raising awareness and support for the Bank’s brand.

The Multimedia Designer position relies on experience, judgment, user data and other metrics to plan and accomplish projects; and requires flexibility, versatility, collegiality, and stakeholder Bank stakeholders on the most effective, evolving approaches.

Principal Accountabilities:

Provide consultative support; determine, and analyze business requirements; and develop strategies using multifaceted design solutions for various communications channels. Engage people around our client in the practice of user-centric design and communications, and in advancing our client's brand and reputation through various channels.

Design and develop intricate digital publications, interactive graphics, mobile applications, video, web sites, and traditional design solutions (including print media).

Work directly and productively with clients to determine text, graphics, strategies, and tactics for all design projects; consistent with our client's broader communications and branding goals.

Continuously assess communication and multimedia needs of audiences and stakeholders, using available metrics. Adapt our communications and multimedia tools, approaches, and channels to address those needs and solve problems.

Simplify, prototype, and communicate innovative UX (user experience) and design concepts to stakeholders and team members. Demonstrate problem-solving skills to initiate improvements and pursues opportunities for innovation.

Supervision:

This position is not required to directly supervise others.
Knowledge and Experience:

Knowledge and experience normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's degree in graphic design, multimedia design, interactive design, or related degree – and a minimum of 5 years of job-related experience or equivalent portfolio.

Experience with interactive and visual design for mobile and web interfaces.

Depth of expertise with UX (user experience) in web, mobile and digital publishing.

Demonstrated understanding of UX (user experience) methods and design principles, with proven examples of these methods and principles in one’s digital portfolio.

In-depth knowledge of industry software, devices, and operating systems.

Excellent attitude and collegiality, and a desire to contribute and grow professionally.

Ability to work on complex design projects, from concept through production and delivery – working with direction and independently.

Ability to balance multiple priorities, identifying resources as needed.

A desire to contribute to the success of the Bank’s overall communications efforts.

Attention to detail and high standards for work.
