Multi-Channel Art Director

Our client's Brand Strategy Department needs a talented, versatile Art Director (Web First[but print, too]) to be a part of a small-but-mighty in-house Creative Team. You will be part of a tight-knit group, so you’ll need a good sense of humor, a strong work ethic, thick skin and, oh yeah, a portfolio that shows only your best work.

The role of the Brand Strategy Department is to plan and coordinate the development and delivery of creative communication for our client's financial products and services to ensure awareness, profitability and competitiveness. In addition, the Brand Strategy Department will develop marketing and advertising strategies and plans to meet changing market and competitive conditions.

The Art Director will work directly with brand managers & strategists to develop communications for several lines of business. Potential candidates must have a strong understanding of web, print and user experience design. The candidate should also be proficient in Adobe Flash and be able to develop and QA animated banners. In addition, this designer should have quality communication skills and be able to manage their own workload to achieve tight deadlines in a fast paced environment. Candidate must be a student of digital who likes emerging channels and thinks web & mobile first. Our client is a digital bank and our marketing strategy and attitude falls right in line with that.

Client is based in Wilmington, Del., but the candidate will get a chance to work with many other creative professionals from all over – other designers, writers and art directors, too – on diverse, high-volume projects. Across all kinds of media channels.

This is a contractor position, however, the candidate will be required to be on site during their tenure.

Essential Functions:
•Concept for Customer, Prospect & Associate facing digital creative including, but not limited to:
oLanding Pages
oE-mails
oFlash Banners
•Develop Customer and Associate facing print creative including, but not limited to:
oLogos
oDirect Mail
oAdvertisements
oPosters
•Work closely with brand experts and strategists to coordinate and complete projects
•Become an expert of the Client brand and be able to review and QA creative developed by external agencies to ensure brand quality and consistency.

Experience & Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field
•Expert knowledge in Art Direction for digital assets(websites, emails, interactive banners, etc.)
•Experienced designing responsive digital experiences.
•Experience in utilizing a strong brand identity to drive direct response
•Work well under pressure; effectively handle tight deadlines, unexpected delays, revisions, ad hoc requests and changing priorities
•Ability to multitask, conceptualize, create and work directly with other employees
•Strong creative problem-solving skills
•Ability to interpret and translate analytic thinking into creative concepts
•A strong portfolio with a range of digital and print work
•A web portfolio is a requirement.

Technical skills and abilities:
•Working knowledge of CSS and HTML best practices
•Expert in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Dreamweaver & Flash) in a Windows environment
•Expert in Adobe Acrobat Professional
•Proficient in Microsoft Windows Business Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
•Working knowledge of html e-mail best practices
•Working knowledge web best practices and SEO
