Motion Designer

As a Motion Designer, you will be responsible for researching, creating, developing, refining, and documenting innovative and compelling motion experience solutions that simultaneously support the functional and business objectives, while conveying the emotional dimensions and brand of the product.

Your primary responsibilities include:
• Produce mood boards, storyboards, design briefs, sketching, motion language guidelines, motion studies, and other artifacts required to develop and evolve user experience designs.
• Work (primarily) with interaction and visual designers to ensure the motion and audio design enhances the overall user experience.
• Work with brand designers to ensure the motion and audio design is reflective of and additive to the brand strategy.
• Work with user researchers to coordinate testing efforts, interpret test results, and incorporate results into design efforts.
• Effectively communicate with developers through implementation phase to realize design vision.
• Communicate, defend, and build consensus around motion and audio definition and design direction.

Required Qualifications:
• 5+ years’ experience in motion design for UX and / or Film & Broadcast.
• 3+ years with common design tools (Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Cinema 4D, Pro Tools, etc.)
• A minimum of a BA/BS degree in Graphic Design, Communication Design, Motion Graphics, Audio Design, or equivalent experience.
• Enthusiasm and passion for motion and audio design in UX.
• Strong skill-set in analytical problem solving.
• Outstanding communication, design thought leadership, and presentation and storytelling skills.
• Strong interest in and aptitude for learning new technologies and design skills.
• A portfolio demonstrating breadth, creativity, and innovation in related fields. Qualifications that are a huge plus: Sound and sensory design for UX and/or Film & Broadcast.
• Understanding acoustics, microphones, and audio test equipment and methodology.
• Strong experience and knowledge in audio performance simulation and prototyping with CAD tools.
• HTML, CSS and Javascript knowledge.
