Motion Designer

We are looking for a talented Motion Designer with extensive motion conception expertise, deep knowledge of interactive principles, web and app space, functional design exploration skills, leadership experience, and excellent collaboration and communication skills. You’ll help design and ship breakthrough experiences that impact how millions of people use our products and services every day.

You will work closely with a team of UI/UX designers, user researchers, design managers, brand marketers, and software engineers in a highly collaborative environment. We require demonstrated skill and knowledge in developing high-functioning products in software applications for mobile and desktop.

Responsibilities:
-Strike a balance between interfaces are that pleasing to the eye as well as efficient and purpose-built
-Integrate and provide feedback to other design disciplines on the team
-Create and present motion designs and studies that bring user stories to life for a wide audience
-Define, develop and document consistent motion design language and it’s uses across products
-Identify, articulate and iterate on new design patterns suitable across multiple products and workflows
-Assist in the production of guides, vision demos, and prototypes which establish and drive product-wide concepts, brand narratives, and experience value propositions
-Work closely and iteratively with designers, project managers and developers to ensure design accuracy and consistency

Top Skills:
PORTFOLIO REVIEW REQUIRED
3+ years as a professional Motion Designer or equivalent experience, work quality is most important. 1+ years knowledge of user-centered design approaches and interaction design best practices
Proficiency in current and emerging web technologies and standard design software packages (i.e. Adobe Premier, Photoshop, Illustrator)
Experience with cross-platform devices – familiar with multiple platforms android, iOS


Ideal Candidate:
-Passion for invention, human computer interaction, and seamless user experiences
-The ability to wear many hats and contribute across disciplines
-A history of prototyping new experiences build on new or emerging technology
-Experience working on a multi-disciplinary team
-Self-motivated and comfortable with the ambiguities inherent in incubation work
-Fearless in the face of new hardware, software, tools, and processes
-Strong brainstorming skills, from participation to leadership
-The ability to reduce complex concepts to understandable, actionable tasks
-A strong interest in design and technology and trends, with an eye toward the future

Additional Qualifications:
-Experience leading others in a team effort
-Coding and or markup language experience to help prototype and validate experiences
-Experience producing functional prototypes, motion studies, and interface models

Ability to discuss and present an in-depth knowledge of typography is important. Bachelor's degree in Design, Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Industrial Design or related area required. A combination of education and experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree.
