Mobile UxD (contract)

We prefer a person with two to three years solid design experience for mobile applications for the Android and iOS platform. You will partner with the product and business owners to translate their vision into intuitive and user-centric mobile interface solutions. You will participate in meetings with agile project teams, provide feedback on business requirements and use cases, present information architecture and interface design deliverables, communicate best practices to project stakeholders, and work very quickly and iteratively. You will report to the User Experience Lead.

Skills and Requirements
o 5 years experience – web UxD
o 2-3 years experience – mobile UxD
o Detailed knowledge of latest Android (and iOS) best practices
o Thorough Information architecture experience (strategic planning and diagrammatic skills)
o Ability to ask appropriate questions, communicate effectively and persuasively convey design solutions to a broad range of stakeholders: product managers, engineers, customers, etc.
o Strong attention to detail and exceptional organization, logic and analytical skills
o Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks; comfortable with tight deadlines
o Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
o Gather and understand user needs
o Translate business requirements into intuitive interface solutions following current standards
o Document new functionality and standards
o Maintain a thorough understanding of backend systems and capabilities
o Develop wire frames and mockups with accompanying interaction rules (UI specification) based on a synthesis of user needs, technical restrictions and requirements and business goals/needs
o Participate in quality assurance testing (as needed or appropriate)
o Create prototypes and participate in user research/usability testing (as needed or appropriate)
