Mobile Product Manager

The mobile category mandate is to ensure our client continues to drive the user experience for mobile products by leading innovation in the mobile space in the United States and international markets. The candidate will work on a cross-functional team whose role is to envision innovative solutions leveraging the global enterprise, first taking account of customer needs and behavior, then layering strategic assets in each market.

The product manager will support the overarching enterprise mobile efforts lead by the Digital Ventures team. These initiatives include the creation, development, and execution of mobile solutions from strategy to product launch for customer facing applications, websites, ecommerce, mobile payment, and internal partner tools.

This position will serve as the "point person" working across the mobile line of business within (retail, business to business, innovation) and peer organizations – Loyalty, IT & Operations. This role will understand customer mobile needs, business opportunities, current capabilities/assets, new/emerging capabilities, and industry trends. Finally, this person will review interactive design documentation and provide day to day guidance and overall relationship management with vendor teams.

The ideal candidate will be influencing a tremendous platform to affect change across the company and industry in general. In this regard, the product manager must possess the leadership and influencing skills necessary to partner across all lines of business.

Qualified candidates will possess a solid track record of launching innovative mobile products, have a background in user experience design, as well as a strong technology background.


Summary of Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
• Deep knowledge base in interactive design and usability best practices.
• Understanding of mobile cross platform human interface guidelines, industry standards, and technologies including Android, iOS, and Windows Phone.
• Ability to lead creative projects from strategy through execution, specifically UX research, strategy, wireframing, and creative asset development.
• Serves as the product lead and liaison to the IT organization to oversee product delivery aligns with strategic and creative intent.
• Makes recommendations or decisions regarding product objectives and strategy, positioning, features and functionality and product lifecycle.
• Develops strategic assessments, including strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, for products and programs. Identifies and quantifies specific product drivers in support of marketing calendar strategies.
• Produces bi-weekly statistics reporting.
• Conducts and analyzes consumer research to determine new marketing and product opportunities and to validate new products and programs. Monitors the domestic and global marketplace for new product innovations, competitors, lifestyle trends and emerging technologies.
• Leads development of new products and product-related marketing opportunities, from concept through implementation strategies, for new and existing products. Manages integrated launch programs for products, including product direction, and email marketing for the mobile product. Communicates product direction to internal and external partners.
• Manages project teams and timelines to deliver products and programs. May work with cross-functional partners to ensure the best available costs, terms and quality.
• Manages the product line business against operating plans and budgets. Tracks, analyzes and communicates product and program performance. Recommends action plans to address variances in category performance against annual plan.
Summary of Experience
• Progressive experience in product or brand management, and financial understanding of interactive products, resourcing, and projects (5 years)
• Direct management experience of interactive design projects through delivery (5 years)
• Leading or assisting in development of product concepts, from conception through implementation (3 years)
• Strong communication and presentation skills (3 years).
